“Let’s give it up for these World War II Veterans,” a man shouted at the spectators gathered at our town’s Memorial Day Parade. “They are 101 and 102 years old!”
I waited for their car to drive slowly drive by, to get a glimpse of these living members of history. My eyes filled, unexpectedly, as I saw their smiling faces, waving to the crowds.
I thought of all that their 101 and 102 years had seen. All that they had been through to get to that moment.

101 and 102. Wow. Hard to imagine how much life has changed.

Wow! They have been through so much…just even in the past 2 years.

That is truly amazing, and also sad to think that soon there won’t be anyone left who lived that experience to share first hand with others.
