Maybe it was the summer like temperatures that called me to your house today.
I’ve been feeling the pull,
As the days have grown longer and the trees have sprung to life,
I’ve felt you all around me.
Do you know, that we grew all our vegetables for our garden from seeds this year?
Just like you always did. I’ve tried before, never finding success.
This year, I was determined.
As I rounded the corner to the back patio,
I wanted to find you there,
resting in a chair after working hard in your garden.
I found your peonies instead.
I snapped one right off the bush,
I brought it to my nose,
and for a second, I was a little girl again,
smelling the flowers you snapped and handed to me.

This is just so beautiful. She is with you….always.

What a tender, sweet moment. Nature has a way of connecting us to people and memories.

Oh, the peony almost made me cry. What a lovely moment – in the present and in the past.
