A Good Day

Today, I’m stealing my seven year old’s structure from her Slice of Life. You can read about her good day here.

It was a good day.

  1. I woke up early and got a workout in before school.
  2. I had extra time for coffee at home, before leaving for work.
  3. My husband was working from home today, so there was less rushing to get everyone ready to get out the door.
  4. Traffic was light.
  5. I started a new audio book.
  6. The temperature at school was just right. I worried the AC would be on and I would freeze…or that the heat would be blaring and it would be too hot. But it was just right.
  7. The energy at school was high coming off of spring break.
  8. Two colleagues got engaged over break, so there was a celebratory feeling in the air.
  9. I got to read with kindergarteners.
  10. I got to confer with graphic novelists.
  11. I had a productive meeting with a teacher.
  12. I got to sit with friends at our faculty meeting, where we had celebratory cake.
  13. I got to listen to my book on my ride home.
  14. I came home to the smell of dinner being made and everyone’s lunchbox was already unpacked.
  15. My family seemed happy and everyone was buzzing with reports of their good day.
  16. I caught the end of Adi’s dance class and got waved in for a sneak peek of her recital dance. She’s grown so much.
  17. A book I’ve been excited to get my hands on arrived today.
  18. I got to eat dinner with Adi.
  19. Wren proudly performed Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on her clarinet while we ate.
  20. I didn’t have a slice of life, but writing with Adi gave me the inspiration I needed.
